Energy Efficiency: How much more are you willing to pay for an efficient home?

A survey commissioned by the Gabetti Group and conducted by the Milan Polytechnic and the Turin Polytechnic analyzes, on the basis of the availability of a large dataset of residential real estate offers, the preferences of Italians in the field of energy-environmental performance of homes and how these affect on sales prices.

According to the Milan Polytechnic and the Turin Polytechnic, in Milan for a typical 100sqm apartment worth 450,000 euros, the willingness to pay for class A is a further 38,000 euros, a premium of 8.4%. This premium is 5% in Rome, over 17% in Turin, 3-4% in Florence and 12% in Padua.
